Attend the 2020 Pan-Orthodox Music Symposium

The third North American regional music symposium was held Thursday, 11 June through Saturday, 13 June 2020. It was an online only event, co-hosted by The International Society for Orthodox Church Music (ISOCM) and St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary (SVS) through its Institute of Sacred Arts.

Exploring the theme of "Music as Liturgy," the Symposium featured masterclasses, workshops, liturgical worship, and presentations

This year's ISOCM/SVS Symposium was dedicated to the Archpriest Sergei Glagolev, honoring his life and legacy in the field of Orthodox Church Music.

This year's online event featured three days of online singing, engaging dialogue, and learning from experts in the field of liturgical music - and from each other.

The 2020 Symposium provided fellowship and discourse with other directors, hymnographers, composers, singers, chanters, readers, youth directors, church school teachers, musicians, musicologists, and those interested in Orthodox liturgical music.

Over 200 participants attended from 12 countries, 39 U.S. states, and 6 Canadian provinces, making this truly a global experience.

The organizers at St. Vladimir’s Seminary and the International Society for Orthodox Church Music were honored to host this year's event and look forward to the next Pan-Orthodox Music Symposium in 2021!
