Symposium Dedication

This year's ISOCM/SVS Symposium is dedicated to the Archpriest Sergei Glagolev, honoring his life and legacy in the field of Orthodox Church Music.

On Thursday, June 11 at 5 pm EDT, a public dedication ceremony will be held.

 

Symposium organizers will offer reflections and a short video celebrating the pastoral work and musical accomplishments of Father Sergei who is expected to join this special event with members of his family.

On Friday, June 12, attendees of the Symposium will participate in a music reading session at 11 am (EDT) discovering and singing recent compositions and arrangements honoring the Archpriest Sergei Glagolev. 

The 18 settings are part of a festschrift being published by the International Society for Orthodox Church Music celebrating the life and achievements of the Archpriest Sergei Glagolev, in particular his seminal work of setting, arranging, and composing in the field of Orthodox liturgical music in the English speaking world.
